Demolish existing kitchen (cabinetry, benchtops, splashback, appliances)

High

REVISED: 16 general hrs + bin/equipment. Covers kitchen strip-out only.

Strip-out existing kitchen: remove cabinetry, benchtops, splashback tiles, appliances. 2 labourers x 1.5 days @ [price hidden]/day = [price hidden]. Includes: disconnect services (cap gas/water/waste), remove wall tiles, bag and stack for skip. Skip bin: covered separately in waste disposal task. CONFIDENCE: 75/100 — Standard demo scope, well understood. Risk is asbestos in splashback adhesive (pre-1990 houses) or hidden services. QUESTIONS: (1) Year of last kitchen renovation? (asbestos check if pre-1990). (2) Any items to salvage (appliances, hardware)? (3) Is there a dishwasher to disconnect?

Splashback supply & install (tile or stone)

Low

Not Started

MILESTONE: Split into 2 sub-tasks.

Kitchen splashback — subway/metro tile or stone. Area: ~4 sqm (perimeter run 4.8m x 0.85m high, minus window cutout). Option A — Subway tile: 150x75mm white gloss. Tile [price hidden]/sqm + adhesive [price hidden]/sqm + grout [price hidden]/sqm + tiler labour [price hidden]/sqm = [price hidden]/sqm x 4 sqm = [price hidden]. Option B — Feature tile (zellige, handmade): Tile [price hidden]/sqm + adhesive/grout [price hidden]/sqm + tiler [price hidden]/sqm (harder to cut) = [price hidden]/sqm x 4 sqm = [price hidden]. Option C — Stone slab continuation from benchtop: [price hidden]/sqm x 4 sqm + template + install = [price hidden] (significantly more). Estimated at mid-range tile: [price hidden] includes allowance for feature tile + edge trims + silicon. CONFIDENCE: 50/100 — Depends entirely on material selection. Tile vs stone is a 5x cost difference. Area estimate needs confirming against final kitchen layout. QUESTIONS: (1) Tile or stone splashback? (2) If tile — standard subway, zellige, or other? (3) Full height to overhead cabinets or standard 850mm? (4) Behind cooktop — same material or rangehood covers it? (5) Window splash return needed?
